A place for my various pagan beliefs, from taoist to eclectic neopaganism
As you may have noticed, I've changed the entire format for my spiritual pages.

I've added
links pages, to make surfing the pages easier to navigate, changed the colour scheme, format, and frankly, just about everything I could think of!

Most of my information, about my       beliefs, my local actiivities, favourite      websites, etc., are now found through              the links to the left.  The rest is                                                  below.

My Name
I chose my pagan name 'Perchta' ((pronounced 'Pair-OCH-mah')) because it had been sitting in my brain for years, without any reason. I'd discovered it in a book of baby names (I was trying to name a character in a story), and though I didn't use it then, I fell in love with it, especially since it was the name of a goddess. When I finally admitted to myself that I needed to be a pagan, the name seemed perfect.
Perchta was (mostly) a southern germanic goddess, originally of fertility and vegetation, but also gatherer of the dead, and goddess of the moon (like Diana). I found excellent information on Perchta/Holda at
Deities of the WitchesThorshof - Goddesses  and Winter Goddesses
I have found more and more as time passes that the name suits me more and more deeply.  At first, it was the sound of the name, almost as though it were being whispered in my mind.  Then I discovered correspondences between it's meanings and history and  my geneology, the time of year I was born, and the type of paganism I tend towards.  It would seem that Perchta I am meant to be!
My Interests: Tarot
I enjoy reading and collecting Tarot.  I believe that it can be an excellent tool for reaching into the collective unconscious, what others might view as higher plains, where one can find answers, learn lessons, and view bits of the possible futures.
I have three decks so far, the Sacred Circle, the Russian and a Robin Wood  deck (I can't recall the name). I found Wicce's Tarot Collection a good site for viewing decks, and getting reviews.  Of course, the best review is to sit down with the deck yourself!
I personally don't hold with the belief that you must be given a deck for it to work properly.  However, I think one's beliefs can influence reality (hey, I'm a pagan after all!) and so if you believe that it matters, then for you it probably does.
That's all I can think of for now, so enjoy these pages, and visit all the links!
