I haven't updated the webbie for a while, except for maintenance like
updating the Horseshow, caption contest, etc. So I finally got a new layout
up here, and added a new link under Interact -
The Equitation Critique!
The Virtual Horse show has been judged, and all the new entries added. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR ENTERING! I am finally able to judge it all! Yay!
I have been very busy riding Pepper and such lately, with the show season starting, and me quitting my babysitting job, I now go riding after school everyday until dark. So the only time I have to update is on the weekends and at night, or on days that I don't go riding.
.:Virtual HorseShow:.
Welcome to Saddle Soap's Online Horseshow! Here you can enter your real horse in a virtual show. There are several classes to choose from, but before you enter, please read the rules below...
Rules:
1. You may only enter your real horse, or a horse you
ride/handle frequently.
2. The picture must be of you riding/handling the horse, no trainers or
professionals.
3. You may not argue, or torment the judge, whether it be me or a friend.
4. In Equitation classes, it you (the rider) who is being judged, and how
the horse seems to be responding to your riding abilities.
5. If the link to the picture doesn't work, I'm sorry. You're disqualified.
I don't have the time to be messing around trying to get the picture to
work, whether your a national champion or not. Plus I can't judge you if I
can't see the picture.
6. This show will run as often as possible, most likely every few weeks.
7. Have Fun! And be a good sport, don't nag anybody if you don't win. It
only leaves an impression on the judge for the next show.
8. Winners will be announced as soon as they have been judged, and they will
be posted on this page, along with the photos.
Classes you may Enter, and brief description of them:
Jumping:
The horse is judged mainly in this class, not the rider. The horse's form is
judged the most, and how well they seem to get over the jump. The photo must
be of the horse jumping, not approaching the jump, or landing it.
Novicec English Riding:
In this class it is the rider being judged, and can be railwork or over
fences. The overall appearance of the rider must be nice, and have control
of the horse. But YOU must be riding, and for no longer than 3 years. (ex:
If you have been riding horses 4+ years, you cannot enter this class)
Advanced English Riding:
This class is that same at Novice English Riding, except it is for more
experienced riders, those who have been riding OVER 3 YEARS.
English Equitation:
This class is judged solely on the equitation and form of the rider. There
is no restriction to the amount of years you have been riding in order to
enter this class, but in order to win I am looking for impeccable
equitation. Once again, the photo can be taken on the flat or over fences.
Novice Western Riding:
In this class it is
the rider being judged, and can be railwork or bareback. The overall
appearance of the rider must be nice, and have control of the horse. But YOU
must be riding, and for no longer than 3 years. (ex: If you have been riding
horses 4+ years, you cannot enter this class)
Advanced Western Riding:
This class is that same at Novice English Riding, except it is for
more experienced riders, those who have been riding OVER 3 YEARS.
Western Equitation:
This class is judged solely on the equitation and form of the rider.
There is no restriction to the amount of years you have been riding in order
to enter this class, but in order to win I am looking for impeccable
equitation. Once again, the photo can be taken with or without the saddle,
although having the saddle is preferred.
Halter:
This class
there is to be NO tack, or movement of you horse. A profile, BODY shot is
preferred, but not necessary. Your horse's conformation is judged, based on
your horse's breed, age, and riding disciplines.

Overall this is horse is nicely put together, He has clean legs and
I like how his neck ties into his shoulder. Although he is a bit over in the
shoulder, it could just be the way he's standing. His hip also could be
built up more, it's not quite in proportion to the rest of his body.

This horse has the most adorable expression on his face, and I love
his neck and shoulder proportion. But his back is too long, and a bit too
much of a sloping croup. His hip is also a bit too small compared to the
rest of his body. He has nice clean, straight legs, and looks very well
kept.

It's hard to tell with a saddle and pad on, but I could get a good
idea of how he's put together. His overall body balance is good, but his
neck ties in much too low to his shoulder. And that creates a "protruding"
look to his withers. He also doesn't have the cleanest throatlatch, but it
could just be the way he's standing.

The first thing I noticed when I saw this horse was how balanced he
was. His neck, back, and legs are all about the same length. But he does
look a bit over in the knee, but it could be the way he's standing, he also
has a fairly skinny neck, and it ties in a little low to his shoulder.
