3/3
I haven't updated the webbie for a while, except for maintenance like updating the Horseshow, caption contest, etc. So I finally got a new layout up here, and added a new link under Interact - The Equitation Critique!

The Virtual Horse show has been judged, and all the new entries added. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR ENTERING! I am finally able to judge it all! Yay!

I have been very busy riding Pepper and such lately, with the show season starting, and me quitting my babysitting job, I now go riding after school everyday until dark. So the only time I have to update is on the weekends and at night, or on days that I don't go riding.

.:About Pepper:.

I love my Pepper, who knows where I would be without him. Teehehe...Anyways feel free to read about why I adore him so much...

Personality

Pepper has quite the personality, deep down he's a softy, sweet, and loving. Not a mean bone in his body. But he doesn't want to look "girly" so he tends to cover it up with a grumpy face. His ears are usually in an annoyed state or flattened, he's real sensitive, and not the easiest keeper. We're actually trying to fatten him up at the moment, as he's lost a lot of weight, who knows why.

He's more of a one person horse, so he does things for me that he won't do for the trainer, Just because He knows me very well and I know him well too. He's real smart, but very stubborn.
For example: In showmanship he was originally trained to pivot on the left hind foot, and since then AQHA has changed their rules, where the judges prefer it if the horse pivots on the back right. So we are trying to retrain him. He understands what he's supposed to do, but he's too lazy to do it.

Something very interesting about Pepper is that he doesn't have a forelock. But he has a fake one, that's what you see in all the pictures. And not much of a mane, in fact we can't even band or braid it at shows!

Me and Pepper

Pepper and I have kind of a "love-hate" relationship. We both have our good and bad days, so if he's in a good mood (even if I'm in a bad one) He tends to cheer me up, usually by behaving very well for me under saddle. If it's the other way around, and he is misbehaving, I tend to get impatient and frustrated. *sigh* I know, not the best attributes while riding horses, but it's just my nature.

Most of the time it's about equal, Pepper usually has an attitude toward everything he does, unless it involves food. His life revolves around food. At shows he is entirely different than at home, he ahs a nice attitude, and is very sweet and willing. He knows his job and does it great, so at most shows we do pretty well, placing high in most every class.

It took me close to two years of searching to find the perfect horse, and after a bad experience with both bad trainers and bad horses, I finally found my guy.

It's actually quite funny, because at school people will often ask me "Do you have a boyfriend" or something along those lines. And most of the time I answer: "Yes, I do. His name is Pepper and he has four legs and a tail." Then I simply walk away.

His Buddies:

Reba (Ms. Boxcar Star)
Black/Brown Registered Quarter Horse mare, 14 years old. She's a darling pleasure pony, one of my best friends, Chelsea, owns and rides. In 2006 Reba will be retired from her full-time job as babysitter, show horse, and fun pony and become a broodmare.

Smokey (Clairs Miracle Jet)
Red Roan Registered Quarter horse gelding, 9 years old. Smokey was recently purchased by Chelsea, as a new show horse to replace Reba. Watch out for this pair in Showmanship, horsemanship, pleasure, and eventually trail and huntseat.

Buster (Ima clever little Note)
Darling Sorrel Quarter Horse gelding, 14 years old. One of my other best friends, Mia, ride Buster for fun around our ranch.

Hanna (unregistered)
Palomino Haflinger Filly, 2 years old. Hanna is one of the sweetest, cutest, and smallest ponies I've ever met! Although she's rather young, Hanna-banana is quite mature for her age.

I love this picture of Pepper, he has such a pretty expression. Probably because of the Carrots my friend was holding to get his attention. Har Har!

This one is pretty as well, he looks very stocky and heavily built, maybe even a tad fat in this picture, but I assure you in real life he really isn't. If anything, he looks more thoroughbred-ish than even a thoroughbred. Although he doesn't have too much thoroughbred in his blood...

This is me and Pepper waiting our turn to perform a patter in Trail. We ended up getting 4th place in the class...

Me hugging Pepper, and yes my pants were rather large on me that day. Hehe, and my hair is in my face as well.

This is a nice profile shot of Pepper, he's very alert in this picture. He was watching his best buddy, Smokey, being longed.

This picture was taken quite some time ago, just a bit after I bought Pepper actually. So must have been in 2002, or so. As you can see, Pepper has is fake forelock in.. Hehe!
