What can I say about Terry Taylor? He is a singer, songwriter, visionary,
and genius. For the last three decades, he has opened up his heart
and his soul to us through his music and his writings. He has influenced
the world of Christian music and the lives of countless fans. He
has certainly influenced mine.
Terry Taylor is most well-known as the lead singer and songwriter of Daniel
Amos. He is also integral to the Swirling Eddies
and the Lost Dogs, and he has produced three solo
albums, pictured above. (For lyrics and commentary on these three
albums, please see J. Brandon Barnes' Terry
Scott Taylor page.)
Taylor has also produced several albums for other groups, such as the 'Rap'sures
( a mid-80's Christian rap group) and Randy Stonehill. His most recent
project is Surfonic Water Revival, a collection of songs by such
groups as Ghoti Hook, Plumb, and Audio A.
But Taylor's musical repertoire has now extended to video games and even
a horror film! He has produced musical scores for two video games,
The Neverhood and SkullMonkeys,
and is working on a new game called BoomBots. The soundtrack for
The Neverhood is now on the market and the soundtrack for Skullmonkeys
is expected soon.
And yes, Taylor is working on the soundtrack, including incidental music,
for a new horror film called Mothman. The Mothman is a legendary
creature who haunted the West Virginian countryside in the mid 60's.
To find out more about the mothman legend, please see The
Mystery of The Mothman Revisited. For more information about
the movie project, see Mothman's official
web site.
