1885-1966. Nimitz is chosen by Roosevelt to suceed to counter-admiral Kimmel at the head of the CINCPAC (Pacific's fleet). It is him who plans the defense of Midway. Nimitz thinks that the submarines are a very powerful tool and so in about 2 years he will disseminate the japanese marchant fleet using submarines. It is also with him that the american fleets Hop toward Japan in 1943-44 and it is under his orders that the Leyte Battles are won. Nimitz is promoted to the rank of fleet admiral (5 stars) and he is there to sign the japanese capitulation .
