As you have seen by the various photo gallery's, most camps have their own gas station to service the needs of the SOFA driver on Okinawa.  However, only Kadena and Camp Foster have major car care facilities to do major repairs on your vehicle.

Gas prices are adjusted annually and will remain at a fix price the entire year when decided.  At present, unleaded regular gas cost $1.20 per gallon.  This changed last October from $1.34 per gallon... a nice drop. As the price changes, I will update this link with the new price.

Japanese Compulsary Inspection (JCI) can cost nearly $800.00 if you have a certified mechanic perform the JCI for you.  However, in 1995 the method to complete your JCI was made much easier.    At Camp Foster, you can take your vehicle and complete the inspection to include the physical inspection and any Japanese insurance requirements/taxes necessary to get your JCI  yourself.  You must provide proof of American insurance prior to completing the JCI.    This can be taken care where you purchase insurance when you bought your auto.
