HANGING OF THE GREENS AND
AN OLD FASHIONED CHRISTMAS
As the Christmas holiday season approaches, we prepare for this holy time of peace and love. One of those traditions include our "Hanging of the Greens and an Old Fashioned Christmas" on Sunday, Dec. 2 at 5 p.m. in the sanctuary. The service will include decorating the sanctuary with the colors, sights, sounds and traditions of Christmases through the ages. Dress casually and bring a friend or neighbor to enjoy the carols, candlelight and good cheer. Following the service we will have a light supper downstairs and tables set with several different types of Christmas crafts for everyone to make (children-youth-adults) as well as a special one for each family to make together. And Joseph will be making his premier as head of the sugar cookie decorating table! Donations will be accepted to help cover the cost of craft materials. We hope you will attend this fun evening that begins the Advent season in the spirit of Jesus as we begin the celebration of his birth.
If you have a Christmas craft that you would like to share at "Hanging of the Greens," contact the church office. Suitable crafts include any holiday decoration for the tree, table, window or outside. If you don’t have a craft idea but would like to help demonstrate a craft, let Anita know. We need help with the craft tables in shifts of about 45 minutes each. Also needed are several DOZEN plain sugar cookies that will be decorated with frosting that evening and donations of frosting. Sign up in the church office, 276-1894. (Donations of disposable cameras also accepted for everyone to "capture the moment" on film. Remember to take pictures that night—we hope to make several cameras available.)
