To My Church Family: Thank you for the wonderful flowers sent to me for my recent back surgery. I really appreciate Pastor Rick's visits, too. For all of the positive thoughts and prayers for me and my family during this time, my heartfelt thanks. Karen Ashbeck
In response to a recent visit by the Shackletons in our morning worship service, we received the following:
We would like to extend our thanks for your support of our ministry. Our time of worship with you was exciting and uplifting and we trust that you received a blessing for your participation. We believe that worship is not in observing a performance of musicians, but in participating through the music that is shared. If you are interested in our ministry or would like to find out more about what we do, you may contact us at:
Shackleton Family, c/o Mid-America Bible College, 3500 SW 119th St., Oklahoma City, OK 73710-(405) 691-3800, etc. 155. Once again, thank you for having us at your church and for your supporting us financially with your generous offering and for being a blessing to us with your spirit of enthusiasm for the Lord. Thank you also for providing us with an excellent meal afterwards. We are praying that God will bless you in your Service to Him. Shackleton & Early families |
Our Round-Up Sunday observance will include a community-wide Worship Service on Sunday, September 9 at 10:30 a.m. at the high school football field. Featured speaker will be retired COG pastor Gerald Marvel and offertory music by Justin Heald of Bend. An offering will be taken to help with the expenses of providing this special service to Pendleton area congregations as well as the community at large. The Gospel Sons will present their unique brand of southern Gospel music while a fried chicken lunch will be served for a very nominal fee. (Students in 7-12th grades will attend a youth service in the high school auditorium also starting at 10:30 a.m. with a guest speaker and local band providing music.) Bring blankets, lawn chairs, umbrellas, etc. for your comfort. You may also bring your picnic lunch, beverages, etc. if you wish. The Coke "wagon" will be selling pop and bottled water throughout the day. In case of inclement weather, everything will move into the new green gym. There is plenty of parking at both high school lots as well as West Hills Elementary. Van shuttles as well as golf carts will be serving the far reaches of the parking areas to transport attendees to the worship service area.
The volunteer schedule for this year's Round-Up food booth will be out soon. Patsy Phelps will be taking sign-ups of adults and youth-age (7-12th grade) that will include the Round-Up concert on Saturday, Sept. 8 as well as throughout the week of Round-Up. Never worked it? It's a lot of fun and you'll probably get to know someone you've only had a chance to say hello to on Sunday mornings. Be a part of this outreach. You'll be glad you did!
It's an awesome thing: to be died for.
