Chloe: Scene 5
"What the hell did you do?" Caity screamed over the din of the crowd. "I can't believe you."
Chloe sipped her soda. "Well, he is an interesting person�"
"Yeah, if he is a he, Chloe do you realize what the hell you're getting into? He might be a mass murderer or something!"
"No one who knows as much as he does about sailor moon can be a mass murderer�"
"Yeah but you got to think, what kind of guy likes sailor moon?"
"I do." Xavier said as he sat down across from them. "I think she's pretty hot for a cartoon character." He winked.
"Uh huh�yeah." Caity rolled her eyes. "Good game�now aren't you going to sit there with your basketball buddies?" She said as she waved towards a huge table of guys.
"I don't know, " He shrugged. "Hey where's Izzy?"
"She wasn't home�I'm worried about her." Chloe muttered.
"Maybe Alex got a little action last night!" Xavier said. And munched on one of Chloe's fries. Caity gave him a disgraced look and Chloe punched him on the arm. He choked and started to laugh.
"Wasn't that a great shot I made?"
"Yeah, actually it was. Nice shot for your first one." Chloe piped in.
"Hahaha�" Xavier said as he grabbed another fry. Amanda and her friend Judy sat at the table opposite them. Xavier waved to them and Amanda waved back and started talking to Judy. "Um�ladies if you would excuse me, I'll leave you for a second to go somewhere I'm appreciated." He got up and walked over to Amanda's table.
Caity raised her eyebrows and looked at Chloe. "What is up with them?" Chloe was not looking at them. He was saying something and Amanda was giggling like crazy.
"Well, he's going to the prom with her." Chloe said as she swirled her fry in the ketchup.
"You're not serious." Caity looked at the two in the corner again. "Him and Amanda? When did you find out?"
"Last night�I was talking to him online."
"Oh. No. Chloe, you didn't make the decision to meet this guy because of him? Did you?"
Chloe didn't respond she just swirled her fry.
"No way Chloe, that's so bad�you shouldn't base a decision like this on a guy like him."
Chloe rose her eyes slowly. "Caity�you don't understand�"
"What do you mean I don't understand�I understand enough�" Caity exclaimed and lowered her voice. "You figure you can just get over a person by meeting another? When you care about a person as much as you do for him. You can't just meet someone else."
"Well, I'm going to�"
"No�Chloe�it's a bad idea�"
"What's a bad idea?" Xavier said as he sat down again.
"Uh�What happened to your fan group?" Caity said.
"Well�I just want to leave them cravin more." He looked at Chloe for a snide remark. She was now concentrating on her soda and never looked up. Xavier looked at the two and repeated. "What's a bad idea?"
The two girls didn't move. Caity waited until Chloe said something but she didn't. She just sat there swirling her straw in the soda. Caity got pissed and impatient. "Chloe's going to meet this kid she met on the internet." Chloe looked up and gave her a sharp look.
"Shut up Cait�"
"No, I'm not�She met this kid online and she said she would meet him today."
"What?" Xavier looked at Chloe. "What the hell are you doing that for?"
Chloe didn't look at him, but instead she turned her focus to the soda.
Xavier looked pissed and said with an angry tone. "Chloe, I thought you were smarter than this. What if this guy's a maniac or a killer or something? You could get hurt. Do you know what he even looks like?"
"Why should you care?" Chloe snapped back. "If you hadn't noticed I'm seventeen and I know what I'm doing." She sat back and violently swirled her soda.
"Calm down Chlo." Caity said as she put her hand on her arm. "We're just worried about you."
Xavier was looking down at the floor. He slowly looked up and said. "Where the hell are you going to meet this punk?"
"I don't think�." Chloe started.
Xavier grabbed her arm and looked at her seriously. "Chloe�Where are you going to meet him?"
Chloe released her arm from his grip.
"At 48th street park, by the benches." She muttered. "At five."
"Good, there'll be a lot of people there." Xavier said as his hand retreated.
"Duh! Don't you think I know that?" Chloe snapped again. "Look�I appreciate that you guys worry about me�but I'm old enough to decide for myself."
For a minute the two were silent. Caity then said, "How would you know who he is?"
"Well, we both like sailor moon, so he's going to be the one with a rose."
"How will he know its you?" Caity persisted.
"I'll be reading a manga." Chloe said. Xavier said nothing but looked up at the clock..�.. 4:00���
