Chloe: Scene 4
The radio blasted over the hum of the computer. Chloe sat in front of the monitor with a comforter around her. The clock by the speaker said 12:00 a.m. It was late but Chloe didn't care. She was down in the basement, away from the watchful eyes of her family. She needed to type, talk to someone, do something. That night was just too much for her. A couple minutes ago she called Izzy�no one picked up on her line. She must still be out with Alex�
Chloe let the modem dial up, then a cheery AIM login window came up. She quickly signed in. No one was on. "Damn, I need to talk to someone." She said to herself. Well apparently Caity was on, because she left a message in her email box:
Cheer up hun. Don't give up�you don't know how he feels. Besides there were too many signs. You guys are going to get together. Remember, fate can only bring you so far, you have to figure the rest for yourself. Giving up is for weaklings.

The attempt brought a smirk to Chloe's face. "I don't know anymore." She muttered to herself. Suddenly Brandy's Have You Ever came on the radio. Chloe lifted an eyebrow. "How convenient." Someone came online then. She pulled up her buddy list and broke into laughter. It was Xavier. Talk about signs. She sat back in her chair and pulled the comforter tighter. "Whatever brought me to like him?" She thought about her other crushes. Just Greg and Joshua. That was kinda pathetic, she doesn't fall into crushes that much but when she does, she falls flat. None of them ever went anywhere, just crushes, nothing more. What made her like them. She thought for a little while. "Oh yeah," She finally remembered, "It was their eyes. Greg had green eyes, and Joshua had beautiful blue eyes�Xavier had�" She couldn't remember. What color was his eyes? She knew she had to notice them because she always remembered what eyes her crushes had. Something struck her. She sat there staring at the monitor. "I don't know the color of his eyes, because I never really looked into them." She said out loud. "Oh, shit! Damn it, I've got it bad. I can't do this anymore�I knew that if I were to cross that line, I would have such a hard time getting out. I'm so freaking in love with him!"
The realization hit her like a ton of bricks. She never cried over a guy before and tonight she did. She can't remember what shade his eyes were. She never tried so hard to get over a guy before. Suddenly an im screen came up.
Xcal1br: Hi
ChloCone: Hey
Xcal1br: Are you going tomorrow?
ChloCone: Huh? Where?
Xcal1br: To my game! C'mon everybody is going.
ChloCone: yeah, I am
Xcal1br: cool�well see you there
ChloCone: k
He didn't answer. She waited a while. Well, at least he imed her first. She had to forget about him�Maybe this was another sign� Another IM came up.
TuX3do: Wow, you're on? Long time no see
It was this guy she chatted with about Sailor Moon. She hadn't talked to him for a while. Frankly she never even chatted to someone she never knew before�but when she talked to this guy she couldn't stop. She was actually happy to meet someone who was as a freak about Sailor Moon as she was. She chatted with him a couple times before and discovered that he lived in the next city.
ChloCone: Hi
TuX3do: Hey do you know what?
ChloCone: What?
TuX3do: I got the new episodes�
They chatted about sailor moon for half an hour. Chloe became happy. This was the first time she didn't think of Xavier that night.
TuX3do: I know right, hey I'm coming to White Falls tomorrow, I would really like to meet you.
ChloCone: I don't know�.I don't think I would be comfortable with that.
TuX3do: c'mon. We have a great time talking to each other�
Chloe thought about it. The thought of meeting him would be really dangerous. She doesn't even know him. But then, she was curious about this guy.
TuX3do: Well, I'm coming at about 5
There was another message�It wasn't TuX3do, no one else came in�She popped up the other im box. It was Xavier.
Xcal1br: You're still on?
ChloCone: yeah�
Xcal1br: it's getting late�
ChloCone: I know, mom
Xcal1br: hehe, very funny
Xcal1br: So I heard you're not going to the prom with Clark
ChloCone: Yeah�
Xcal1br: well, then who you going with?
ChloCone<Omigod, he's going to ask me!!!>: uh no one�I've decided to go by
Myself
ChloCone: bout you?
Xcal1br: I'm going with Amanda. I ran into her at the mall
Chloe's heart sank. He asked Amanda? I was at the mall too�why didn't he ask me?
Xcal1br: I'm going to sleep now�nite nite
ChloCone: bye
He left. Chloe tried not to cry. No this is it�I knew it, she sniffed. If this wasn't a sign then nothing was. I have to get over him, I have to stop thinking about him. She closed the im box. TuX3do was still on. She was staring at his im box.
ChloCone: Hey tux
TuX3do: hey
ChloCone: Maybe a meeting wouldn't be too bad�
