To everyone who participated in last year's event: THANK YOU! Because of your generosity, we are able to raise the amount of this year's award to $1,000! We are honored to be able to help a first year college student further their education with this scholarship. With your help, this year can be an even bigger success!
With that said, I'm sure you've noticed by now that we won't be playing golf in July this year. My wife and I are expecting our first child during the month of July, so as you can imagine, the timing could have been a challenge! We have instead chosen a date of Sunday, September 21. The drier fall air should make for a fantastic day on the course. Speaking of the course, Juniper Hills just couldn't contain us, so we're moving the tournament to Heritage Country Club in Charlton! We finally have enough anticipated players to have a shotgun start (7:30 AM), and Juniper doesn't offer this format. I think you will all be very happy with the condition of the course, as well as the recent improvements they've made. It's an honor to be able to hold the tournament in the town my dad was so fond of his entire life.
In other news, the entry fee has actually decreased from $105 to $95. Gas prices and inflation are hurting everybody. Our goal is to keep this tournament affordable so that we can all have a great time without breaking the bank. While most tournaments are going up (the new average is over $120) we're going down. Just more proof that we're the best deal in town!
We're very excited about this year's tournament. As always, we're planning on having great food, tons of prizes and give-aways, and lots of laughs. Also, we're always looking to add sponsors, so this year, please ask a business owner to help out. Just adding one or two new sponsors every year makes a huge difference. See you in September!
