Assignments turned in by next Friday will be lowered two grades. Assignments submitted after the due date will be posted in the next credit period. No late assignments accepted after the Friday following the end of the credit period. If this is the last day in the semester, all work must be turned in today; no late work accepted for credit. |

| REVIEWING EARTH DAY and PROGRESS/STUDY SKILLS [ ] 1-1 New pages for notebook. Begin conservation unit. Research and write a 3 to 5 paragraph paper about Earth Day. Include an idea web and final copy/bibliography in your INB. If you didn't earn full credit (1.5 cr) last credit period, complete an AE(D) credit assignment--write a 2-paragraph paper: first paragraph explaining why you didn't get full credit, the second paragraph explaining how you'll change things so you will get full credit this credit period--completed paper--0.5 AE(D) credits. Also remember, you and a partner may create a science project for our Earth Day celebration--science credit for creation (1/2 credit) and presentation/evaluation (1/2 credit)--you'll need to talk w/ Steve and decide on a topic today or tomorrow, create the project this week and early next week to present it on Friday, 5/2/08. Write the meaning of the word conservation in your INB. What is conservation? Why should we conserve? [ ] 2-2 You and your partner--pick one conservation issue to research and report on. Take the topic to Steve for approval ______________. Research information in the textbook, other books, and the Internet. Also, today is the last day to submit an Earth Day project to Steve. [ ] 2-3 Continue with research on conservation & make 1 to 5 paper cranes for Earth Day; in your INB, write a paragraph about the crane-making experience. [ ] 2-4 Print & complete paperwork for Earth Day DCW credit. [ ] 2-5 Earth Day celebration @ PEC! [ ] 3-1 Evaluate our Earth Day celebration, then begin creating a three-fold brochure illustrating your conservaton issue--include a bibliography and where to get further information.
