Complete the following to earn 1/2 credit in Life or Physical Science..need HELP? Contact Steve in class, by phone, or by email. Completion deadline: 3/2/05
"C" LEVEL--65 points MAXIMUM. Must earn
at least 60 pts to move to the next level:

1. Find a place to
WATCH FOR BIRDS.
Location ___________________ Spend 15 to 60 minutes watching. Time(s) ________________________ Record sightings on checklist (one per day), send data online/print receipt for sending. Dates: 2/18, 19, and/or 21/2005--10 pts per day (max 4 days)
No birds? Get some birdseed and put it in your birdwatching spot. (99cent Store).
2. Watch birds through
binoculars--5 pts.
3.
DRAW a picture of a bird you see and like best--5 pts.
4.
WRITE a poem about birds--5 pts.
5. In a
LANGUAGE other than English, write 10 facts about birds--10 pts.
6. Make a
PowerPoint presentation on birds--10 pts.
7. Create a section on birds at your
science website--10 pts.
8.
Send a bird or nature eCard--2.5 pts per card; max. 4 cards. Print copies of cards you send.

pictures of five of the birds you see.  Send a copies to GBBC; keep copies to turn in with project.
2. Create a
bird habitat--portray the bird in it's natural habitat. Submit idea to *Steve and Susan before beginning work on your creation.
3. Make a
bird facts poster.  Submit idea to *Steve and Susan before beginning work on your poster.
"A" LEVEL--Pick ONE * 20 pts

1. GBBC Science Stories--read about past results; learn what we can find out from this year's GBBC data. Take Cornell-format notes.  Write a 3 paragraph paper summarizing what you've read and learned. Check spelling and grammar.
2. Become a
BIRD AMBASSADOR--print and read infomation, decide on specifics w/ *Steve.
