3. (15 pts) Write an autobiography--imagine you've spent the day with Mr. McBurney.  What did you do?  What did you learn?  Write about your day--every hour from 8:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M.
4. (15 pts) Find out about Quinter, KS--Review the website,
take notes, and create a summary paper listing 10 to 15 facts about Quinter: website: discoverquinter.com .
5. (10 pts) Watch the slide shows about Quinter, KS...take

6. (20 pts) Make a poster depicting Waldo McBurney's life.  Take a preliminary sketch to Steve and Susan...get their written feedback before creating the poster.  Artwork skills count!
7. (20 pts) Watch any documentary-type show about "growing old". List the title, network, and date of the broadcast. Take
notes, then summarize the program in 1-3 paragraphs.
8. (15 pts) Write a piece of poetry describing getting old or a life well-lived. Get written feedback from Dawn; revise as needed.
9. (20 pts) Write and illustrate a 6-10 page book for children about growing old. You may write about Waldo McBurney's life. Get written feedback from Steve, Dawn, and Susan.  Revise as needed. Read the book to a child: ____________________________________.
10. (30 pts) Write a 10-sentence paragraph describing the life of Waldo McBurney. Your paragraph is to be written FIRST in any language OTHER than English , then written in English. Read it to a family member and 2 other classmates who speak the other language. Get written feedback from each of them; revise as needed.
11. (10 pts) Make a timeline  of Waldo McBurney's life using adding machine paper. Include graphics, words, and COLOR.
12. (20 pts) Make a poster and brochure advertising Mr. McBurney's book, 
My First Hundred Years: A Look Back from the Finish Line. Create a rough draft and share it with Steve and Susan.  Share the final project with Steve and Susan too.
13. (30 pts) Read Mr. McBurney's book--

SECTION THREE--"A" Level--20 points--choose ONE activity to complete; include bibliography information.

1. Write a letter to Mr. Waldo McBurney. Ask him questions about his life; tell him about your life. Create a rough draft and show it to Steve and Dawn. Using their suggestions, rewrite and review the rewrite with them. When the final paper is approved, sent it to: Mr. Waldo McBurney, P.O. Box 277, Quinter, KS 67752. Include a postcard wth your letter for his response.
2. Plan a movie portraying Mr. McBurney's life.  Develop the plot and show each step to Steve and Dawn. You don't have to actually create the movie, just the plan for how you might develop it if given the chance:-)
