On the Nature of Grinneal

So who is this Grinneal person, anyway?  What is, or was, he?  The finest minds of Temuair, in spite of the impending maddening, have pondered these questions over the ages.  What have they concluded?

Theory1
The most popular theory is that Grinneal was the most powerful of the Earth-Sea gods of Kadath, who sat idly by for ages and ages until he was consumed by the all-encompassing dark power of Chadul.  Thus Grinneal shifted from God of All to God of Nothing, and is no longer able to incarnate in Temuair.

There are those that think Grinneal was the God of All, the one and only being in all existence.  Grinneal sacrificed his being, though, to become the God of Nothing, so that all that is or ever will be would be free to live and grow.

Theory3
Personally, I prefer this final theory.  Grinneal is the God of All.  He is everything.  Temuair is merely part of Grinneal.  We are all born from Grinneal, and when we pass, our flesh returns to Grinneal.  Our spirits once did too, but the dubhaimid have taken to trapping and tormenting our spirits after we pass.  The "Decay of Grinneal" referenced in the histories could be just that, the darkness festering in Grinneal, rotting him like an infectious wound.  Grinneal is not able to reach us any longer through whatever means he once did due to our diseased world.  Thus from our point of view, he is now God of Nothing, powerless to act in the cancerous boil of his being that is Temuair.

Which theory is right?  Maybe all of them.  Maybe none of them.  May be something completely different from anything imagined before.  As has been said, beings of the scope and power of Grinneal are beyond our understanding.  Questions that cannot have answers are a cornerstone of quality philosophy, though. heh
