John Wardley - Head Coach: John has been boxing since the age of 14. He joined the British Armed Forces at age 16 and continued boxing. He formed the Cooking Lake Boxing Club in Cooking Lake, Alberta and later moved it to Sherwood Park, Alberta keeping the name Cooking Lake. He has had great success with training boxers both young and old. He trained a 38 year old member of the RCMP who went on to win his first match. He has had kids from his club approach him long after they had reached adulthood and express how grateful they were to him in changing the coarse of their lives. Where before they were on a destructive path both internally and externally, they received guidance and self determination to accomplish feats they thought were impossible. They are now happily married with families of their own and active members within their own communities. John's uncle encouraged him as a youth to follow this same course and John wants to pass on the opportunity for young people today to be all they canbe. John has full coaching certification in Level one and two and level three theory. |
