USAGI AI
Part Two
//Joining To-ya on the sofa he allowed himself to be wrapped and tucked back up in the quilt. He kept his eyes on To-ya all the time, who didn't seem to realise just how close together their faces were - not until he looked up and straight into Yuki's eyes that is.
Time froze, To-ya was so close to him that he could smell the vague scent of lemons on his breath, he could see emotions whirling around in To-ya's eyes and was pleased to see tenderness and _want amongst the confusion. Throwing caution to the wind with a quick prayer for his friendship, Yuki leant forward and pressed his lips against To-ya's.//
To-ya was frozen, his mind whirled frantically whilst his body was held immobile, Yuki was _ Yuki was _ Yuki was KISSING HIM! Gently he moved away from the other boy and looked down at him with confusion. He wanted to kiss Yuki again - properly, but a loud part of his mind was having a panic attack screaming at him to get up and leave, he wasn't gay. He finally settled for, "Yuki?"
Yuki lowered his head so that To-ya couldn't see the silver tears welling there, he had taken the chance that To-ya felt the same but it was obvious by the other boy's reaction that he was reading into something that wasn't there. "Gomen To-ya." He whispered and bit his lip to hold back the sob that was trying to rip its way through him. To-ya wasn't stupid, he could see that Yuki was on the verge of tears but he had no idea what to say to make it better he was so confused. Standing up he ran a hand through his hair and slowly said, "I think I'd better go Yuki, I'll see you later." And left desperately trying not to look back and kiss his snow bunny again, he couldn't be gay he dated Kaho and just because he'd been with no one since didn't make him gay, but there was something about Yuki that was magical. He succeeded in giving himself a headache and by the time he got home and realised he had left all his school work at Yuki's he felt positively awful.
Fujitaka was surprised to see his son home so early, usually he would be receiving a phone call nearer tea time to say that he was staying over at Yuki's to study. He opened his mouth to enquire but closed it as he saw the lost and depressed look on Touya's face, one that he hadn't seen there since he had dated the substitute teacher Kaho.
Touya didn't eat much at dinner and he was glad that Sakura had stayed over at Tomoyo's for the night, he didn't want to be pestered. He was so confused and the more he thought about it the more confused he got, and the less he tried to think about it the more a hurt snow bunny appeared behind his eyes.
Fujitaka watched his son move his dinner around on the plate not really eating any of it, he guessed that something had happened at Yuki's but he couldn't think what - it was obvious that he and Yuki were more than friends or at least should be, and if Yuki had been really sick then Touya wouldn't be at home looking like someone ripped apart his favourite toy and told him to stitch it back together again.
The next morning Touya still didn't feel any better and was actually dreading meeting Yuki at the corner like he always did, but Yuki had all his school books and the homework that he hadn't done. He winced wondering how he would explain to his teachers why he had done none of the work set him when he was usually a straight A student.
" Tousan, I'm leaving now, ja ne!" he called wearily and left the house. Fujitaka watched his son get his bike and leave, he hoped Touya and Yuki worked out what ever it was that was bothering them - they belonged together.
