My First Love

This page is for the person that has had the most impact on my life.
My hero, my teacher, my cheering squad, my friend and my first love.
This page is about my Daddy.

This man is who taught me my love of books and passion for fantasy by reading me the Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan and other such fantastic adventures in magical places such as Narnia or Wonderland.

He even had me reading Dickens and the Great Gatsby before I left grammar school and I liked it! Along with our storytime came lessons in vocabulary and patience. He never once showed irritation when he told me what those big words meant.

Daddy also has a kind heart that shows in his love for animals. Throughout my childhood we always had pets. In fact, for a long time there my family raised English Cocker Spaniels and he was heartbroken everytime we sold a puppy. But I think his favorite was Taffy our champion. Mind you his affection for helpless creatures did not stop there. For example I once brought home a stray kitten and although he claimed to hate cats once that little guy crawled in his lap and fell asleep that kitten was there to stay.

He is more than a teacher he has a strong sence of values. Though we may not always agree on thing I feel no less loved for my difference of opinion.

He has always been there when I fall and I know I can count on him to hold my hand while I try to pick up the pieces. Sometimes takes up some of the burden himself.

To completely describe the beautiful man my father is would take years. Do not get me wrong my father is human but he is as close to a knight in shining armor as reality can get, and that is why even as a grown woman I can without shame call my father "Daddy".
