Northeast Trip 2007 - Quebec
Leaving Quebec City, we followed the St. Lawrence river. We stopped at Monmagny and took a small ferry to an island called "Ile aux Grues". Pierre & Michelle had recomended we check it out. It turned out our 29'10" motorhome was the largest vehicle they allowed on the ferry.

This was the ferry making a run before we got on. Here we are crammed on the ferry. It was a hair raising experience getting on and off the ferry, as we had to drive on a side ramp, then jockey back and forth until we were lined up properly. The deck hands only spoke French so that was interesting.

Ise aux Grues
The road sides had lot's of wild flowers. The island has a number of dairy farms that have formed a cheese making cooperative.
We camped in a small munincipal campground on a hill overlooking the church and cemetary.

Hardly anyone on the island spoke English, but it was a beautiful island with a pretty little town, and we enjoyed riding our bikes around the island.
The little campground we stayed in looked out towards the dairy farms that cover a good part of the island.
