Taking the stage first is never easy, but opening for Rag Rock PDA set the ball rolling and started the pit moshing. As the capacity increased, the music got louder, and the crowd went into overdrive.
To be fair, and kinda blunt, Rag Rock was a disaster...We were unbelievably nervous beforehand and this led to mistakes early on that caused more nerves and more mistakes. Ironically the recording of Rag Rock is the only recorded material we have and we're gonna have to live with it. Hopefully we'll learn from Rag Rock, but we have to accept that it undid all the good work of The Cabaret only four days before...
Starting with Heroin for the Masses a song that�s guaranteed to get any crowd in the mood, PDA followed up with an electrifying rendition of Ash�s Goldfinger, that certainly rocked my socks...
PDA continued by slowing down the evening�s events with Maunder. By now the venue had reached full capacity and the crowd had begun to show their appreciation, despite some technical problems, the song sent a buzz around the room.
The next song was a cover of The Pixies� classic, Gigantic which starts with an excellent bass riff, done full justice by Dave. God! Show Me Magic was the final song in an eventful set, and served as a steady if rather calming end to the first act of the night. By now the crowd were wide-awake, and ready for the rest of the evening�s entertainment, which went on to include superb renditions of Smells Like Teen Spirit and Plug In Baby form the other acts. PDA, therefore, performed admirably in paving the way for a night of excellent entertainment.
