If a child lives with criticisms,  he learns to condemn. If a child lives with hostility, he learns to fight.  If a child lives with ridicule, he learns to be shy.  If a child lives with shame,  he learns to feel guilty.  If a child lives with tolerance,  he learns to be patient.  If a child lives with encouragement,  he learns confidence.  If a child lives with praise,  he learns to appreciate.  If a child lives with fairness, he learns justice.  If a child lives with security,  he learns to have faith.  If a child lives with approval,  he learns to like himself. If a child lives with acceptance and friendship,  he learns to find love in the world.

"And must I keep giving again and again?" ,  My selfish answer rang.

For every woman who is tired of acting weak when she knows she is strong,  there is a man who is tired of appearing strong when he feels vulnerable.

For every woman who is tired of acting dumb,  there is a man who is burdened with the constanct expectation of "knowing everything".

For every woman who is tired of being called an "emotional female",  there is a man who is denied the right to weep and be gentle.

For every woman who feels "tied down" by her children,  there is a man who is denied the full pleasure of shared parenthood.

For every woman who is denied of meaningful employment and equal pay,  there is a man who bear full responsibility for another human being.

For every woman who was not taught the intricacies of the automobile,  there is a man who was not taught the satisfaction of cooking.
