These photos have yet to be edited (lens dust, cropping, fixing lens distortion - no the buildings aren't leaning, I was just aiming down, etc.), culled and dated, however, if nothing else they are at least in rough chronological order as you descend the page with those at the bottom being the most recent and showing the construction to the 45 Province development in the middle foreground. Construction to 45 Province was on the 15th floor as of early February 2008. The 16th floor should be the first with views of the park to the west. The bottom half of the tower should be ready for move in 1H of 2009.
For those not familiar with Boston, you are looking west. The bright lights in the middle of the frame just under the horizon are Fenway Park. To the right in the background you can see the Charles River. Just off center to the left in the background are the Hancock and Prudential towers at Copley Place in the Back Bay. The tall building on the left edge of the frame is actually two buildings - the "new" Ritz towers. Finally, the gold dome to the right is the State House, not to be confused with the Old City Hall, which has the copper roof and American flag in the immediate foreground on the right, where Ruth's Chris is located.
In its fickle and meandering quest for commercial grandeur, the Freedom Trail currently runs through the foreground of these photos and directly under the balcony they were taken from before heading off to Faneuil Hall, the North End and Charlestown, all to the right (North) of the field of view.
Wow, it's been a while since my last photo, but as you can see there hasn't been much new, other than the snow and the external elevator coming down and being replaced with the final glass of the fa硤e. Oh, there is one big change - there are lights on inside! I'm looking forward to move in date.
