Trips to France over the years. We have always stayed at a house, La Bastide Neuve, just east of a little town called Cereste, which is
east of Apt, which is, in turn, east of Avignon, the largest regional city and terminus for the TGV (great fast train) from Paris.

The hotel my mother and I stayed at it Moret while visiting Min and Jamie.

The road from Cereste leading to the driveway to our house, on the right along the trees.

The driveway to the house.

No, although along the driveway, this is not the house itself.

Poppy and lavender fields surround the house and much of the region.

Father (brother-in-law Stefan) and son (Spencer, Lindsay's brother). This is one of my favorite shots from the trip, taken during a hike in the valley.

Just a tree in a valley during one of our hikes around Cereste.

Stefan wearing his usual summer sweater.

Stefan with daughter, Lindsay.

Brother David with Lindsay.

The pool at the back of the Cereste house in Provence.

Brother David with Haley.

Father (brother-in-law Chris) and daughter (Haley).

My two sisters, Lisa (married to Stefan) and Jennifer (married to Chris).

A view of the lanscape around the Cereste house from a local hilltop town.

Min with the boys.

Chris reminds me of a film director here talking with brother David, "Wavy."

Here come the mothers to photograph the kids playing soccer. Ok, I'll join in.

I'm surprised Mr. Director bothered to take the cigar out for the shot!

Father shooting son.

The cherry tree next to the kitchen. We ate a lot of cherries.

Youngest sister "Poops" (Lisa, mother of Lindsay and Spencer) being herself.

Brother and older sister playing soccer.

Is that a Nikon? How embarrasing. He has since converted to a Canon 5D. I think he still has the Hass somewhere.

One of my photos that I particularly like, this is Sophie.

Another one of my favorites, Biggie in his strut.

Another shot of the valley.

On a hike through the hills.

Lindsay and me goofing off.

Lindsay goofing off without assistance.

Had to get a good shot of Haley after getting her twin siblings, Biggie and Sophie.

All the siblings together.

Biggie on Ruthanne, my mother.

My brother Jamie, and his girlfriend, Min, were finishing their Wharton MBAs in Fontainebleau, where INSEAD is based. They were staying in a small town called Moret just to the East of Fontainebleau. This was a Napoleonic palace of Fontainebleau.

The next few photographs are of Giverny, probably best known for Claude Monet;s work done there, about half way between Paris and the English Channel.

Moret, where Jamie was staying, has one main road through town, with large gates on either end. It was a picturesque town, although it must be boring as heck to live there full time.

My favorite photo of Moret.

I had to hussle to get back down in time before the shutter went off. The family getting together for a meal.

A hike to a local hilltop town.

Apt from above.

There was lively debate on whether this was snow or white rock. I refused to give in, it is snow!
Later addition: in a subsequent trip I went to the top of the mountain, it is white rock, although it was cold enough for snow - this is the mountain in the Tour de France race.

Playing with the camera.

The director trying his hand at painting. While in Rome....

Lindsay Poodle relaxing.

I love this photo of David and Sophie.

We usually had breakfast and dinner together as a family. Provincial feasts.

A hilltop town we hiked to. I think this one was known for it's red pigments.

B&W.

Infrared.
