Hi !,

I am from Pune, Maharashtra India. A beautiful place, 200km south east  from Mumbai (Bombay). I was born on 26 th Nov, more than 30 years back. My father worked in Indian Army and retired 10 years back is now helping my brother to setup his business. My mother is an active house wife. I am married to Dr. Rupali  in 2000 and  have a  son Sidd-Sauri. I am staying in POSTECH and working as researcher in area of nanotechnology.  

 

My father worked in Electrical Mechanical Engineers (EME) Corps in Indian Army hence our family  had to move from one place to another whole over India. I did my schooling from one of the ‘India’s best schools’,  Kendriya Vidhyalaya Sangathan’s “Central School”. I studied at various central schools in country viz. starting from Deolali Camp- Nasik, Trimulgherry - Secunderabad, Sadar Bazar-Agra, NDA Khadakwasla- Pune. I completed my Secondary and High Secondary in 1985 and 1987 respectively. Later, I joined Bachelors in Science (Physics) programme at Maharashtra Education Society’s Abasaheb Garware College in Pune. I got B.Sc. (Physics) Degree in year 1990. I continued my education and took admission to one of the well respected department (Physics) in country at University of Pune. I finished my MASTERs (M.Sc.) in Physics in 1992. My specialization was Systematic Analysis of Materials and Chemical Physics. Later I took research experience working at Insulating Materials Lab. Department of Physics, Pune University and Materials Chemistry Division at National Chemical Laboratory (NCL) at Pune. In year 1995, I joined Surface Physics Lab. at Physics department  of Pune University . On Dec. 1999, I submitted my thesis on “Investigations of Mn, Fe, Ni and Pb doped ZnS nanoparticles”  to Pune University for award of PhD. in Physics.   After receiving PhD in July 2000 , I joined the same department as Lecturer in Physics.  After taking teaching experience, I went to Department of Material Science and Engineering, POSTECH, S. Korea, for getting POST DOCTORAL experience.  At present I am working with Eco friendly Catalysis & Energy Lab at Dept. Chem. Engg. at POSTECH.
