The Star Trek PBeM Intergalactic Database has an index of Star Trek online
sims. The Database's goal is to
promote online roleplaying and interactive
writing in general, and Star Trek similations
specifically. This is done by creating a list of
links that will be easy to spider, and easily
accessable to all browsers.
The Alternative Badges pages offer free
graphics to give other sites a unique look,
instead of re-using the same graphics every other
site offers. The list is constantly growing.
The Sim Medals pages have awards
based on real military ribbons. They were created
for sims to award to their players for good
participation. Most of the Sim Medals are not
Star Trek specific, and could be used for any
sim. Like the Alternative Badges, the Sim Medals
are free.
In order
to offer sims a way to promote themselves, the
Database maintains a number of WebRings for sims
to join. As the Database expands, each ring will
have it's own featured page. Also, help pages are
in the works for those who do not have experience
using the WebRing system.
The
Database is self-rated to be PG-13. However,
outside links may lead to sites with adult
content.
The
background is intentional. Yes, I really meant it
to be that way :)
Here is a list of services
and goals for the Database for this year (in no particular
order):
Expand
the graphics to include more variety,
sizes, and styles. Buttons, bars, and
other page elements will be added.
Create
dedicated pages for each of the
Database's rings:
- Absolute
Star Trek: Monster Navbar Stacks
- Star Trek:
ChronoWerx
- Star Trek
Databse Ring
- Star Trek:
Nexus Unity
- Star Trek
Now
- Star Trek:
Ultimate Voyage
- The Star
Treky Ring
- Unofficial

Have
a tips and help page for joining the
rings.
Expand
upon link exchanges, promotions, and
affiliates.
Offer
advertising (cheap or free) to help
promote sims.
Create
a "promotions suite";
essentially pages that will include links
to help sims promote themselves,
including tips and help.
Find
a free host, without banners, with FTP
access, and at least 5MG of storage. (It
could happen.)
Add a
"search site" feature.
Add a
blog for updates and news (delete
the bulletin board).
Reformat
all free graphics from JPG to GIF.
Delete
this site if it ever becomes no longer
fun. Then, set the computer on fire and
live as a mountain-man in the Rocky
Mountains.
The Star
Trek PBeM Intergalactic Database will not sell,
exchange, or reveal any information you send via
Email or form. Such information, with exception
to listing information, is not maintained or
stored. You wil be contacted only if you request
information or acknowledgement, or if there is a
question or opportunity in regards to your
listing or other promotion exchange.
