After two uneventful seasons with Sta. Lucia hounded by injuries and limited playing time, Gerard whipped himself into fighting form, consequently earned the confidence of the Realtor's coaching staff and soon came into his own.
The prodigious forward was the most consistent Realtor in the team's conquest of a first-ever championship in the Governors Cup, a performance that didn't go unnoticed as he was unanimously voted Finals MVP by the Press Corps.
