Navigation Bar Hints
Space: By putting a <p> immediately before and after the navbar code, you will create a space around your navbar in a navbar stack.

Colors: Find a hex code color map on your favorite search engine and open it in another window. That will give you more choices when picking colors for your navbar.

Brief Navigation
There are some types of rings that would work better with brief, or small, navigation symbols. Navbars for journals, blogs, and forums are examples. Here's a list of some widely used brief navigation symbols.

# = Ring hub or list
! or J = Join
? = Random Site
<, > = Next or Previous
<<, >> = Skip Next or Prev
<S, S> = Skip Next or Prev
<5, 5> = Next or Prev 5

Note: All navbar samples are live.

These templates are made for use on the "WebRing" system. Copy and paste the codes over the existing code for your navbar.

Please read instructions carefully; there may be some codes you will have to change.

These codes are set up to work with your ring, so if you copy/paste the code on your navbar editor, your ring's title will appear. You will set your own colors through the "Navigation Code" control panel. Your navbar will not be exactly like the examples.

The Kitchen Sink: The following features can be activated/ deactivated on the WebRing navbar control panel: Ring Manager profile link, search box, copyright, and logo. Code contains instructions for removing the Forums link, and the Feature Site/ RM's site link, and the code for the search box and copyright. Colors can be set on the control panel.

To use this navbar effectively, the Ring Manager must designate a site as a Ring Manager's site. This is done from the site's "Edit Site's Information" page by checking the "Use this page as my RingMaster web site" box. Also, in order for the Forums site to work, the ring's forums have to activated from the "Global Settings" link. Lastly, if the Feature Site link is to work, then a Featured site has to be designated. Use the "Don't Track Featured Sites" option to feature sites for free.
