Q: What happens at the initial consultation?
A: During the free initial "Get Acquainted" Interview you will have the opportunity to learn more about our services and qualifications, and we will have the opportunity to learn more about your pets and home. If you decide that Pawsitive Pet Sitting is right for you, and if we agree that your pets are best served by us, you will need to fill out a few forms and provide us with a copy of your house and mail keys. (If you do not have a key ready, you will need to arrange to drop them off or you will be charged a fee for a return trip).
Q: Do you have insurance?
A: Yes, for your protection Pawsitive Pet Sitting is fully bonded and insured by
Business Insurers of the Carolinas.
Q: Are you licensed?
A: Yes, like all legitimate businesses, we hold a valid city business license. However, the pet sitting industry is self-regulated, so there is no such thing as a "pet sitter's license" like there is a contractor's license, a cosmetologist's license, etc. However, we are members of
Pet Sitters International.
Q: What kind of animals do you care for?
A: We care for most animals, including puppies, dogs, kittens, cats, rabbits, birds, guinea pigs, rats and hamsters. Pawsitive Pet Sitting does not care for aggressive animals and/or animals with a history of biting.
Q: What types of medications can you administer to pets?
A: We will administer pills, drops and liquid medication at no extra cost. To administer injections and sub-q fluids there is an additional charge of $5-$10. We will not administer medication to any animal that poses a danger to our caregivers.
Q: Why should I use Pawsitive Pet Sitting, when I could get a friend, neighbor, or family member to do it ?
A: It's great to have a friend, neighbor, or family member willing to help you while you are away. However, we are
insured, experienced in handing pet emergencies and have solid references from satisfied clients. In addition, we follow Pet Sitters International's
Recommended Quality Standards for Excellence in Pet Sitting. We know how difficult it is to impose on someone to take on such a big responsibility - and now, you don't have to!

Q: Why is spay and neutering important?
A: There are many health benefits to spay and neutering your pet; Spaying a female greatly reduces the chances of breast cancer and the threat of uterine and ovarian cancer and uterine infection, thus your pet may live longer. Neutering a male reduces the chances of testicular tumors, hernias, abscesses, prostrate enlargement and prostate cancer later in life, thus your pet may live longer.
Additionally by spaying and neutering your pet you will be doing your part to end the pet overpopulation crisis in the United States. Every year 7 million unwanted dogs, cats, puppies and kittens are put to sleep because there are no homes for them.
Kittens can start having kittens at 4 months old and can have up to 4 litters a year. Puppies and Kittens can be safely fixed as soon as they reach 2-3 months old.
