Effective Studying
- By Pawsa Lava
Lack of preparation for exam and fear of failure in examination result in anxiety, create stress and shatter self-confidence. With good preparation, acquisition of examination skills and confirmation of these improvements by participation in examination like situations (mock tests) is helpful in building self-confidence and remaining anxiety free. Do not entertain doubts about your ability to do well in the examination. Have positive thoughts that you will excel in exams. This is the first thing you should develop and, secondly, set a goal with determination and dedication. Definitely, you will be whatever you resolve to be. With these, follow following study habits:
1) Read your subjects of study with willingness and not by force and enjoy studying. Everyday make out a time - table to study at the same time and place. Then your mind gets tuned and conditioned to study, by which you will be able to avoid distractions.
2) Have the 3 R techniques i.e. Read, Recall and Review. Read with understanding, write down the summary of important points for quick reference. Then recall memory and review and try to recall the points as many times as possible. Then try to write down, because writing once is equivalent to 10 times of reading, and it will get recorded in your memory.
3) Study all the chapters included in the syllabus. If you gamble, guess and select only a few chapters to study, then you develop fear of examination, because you will lose confidence. Study thoroughly with confidence.
