Most of the species are nomadic, however. Dolphins, orca, and swelldusk--an alluvically-gifted dolphin maow--all visit the shores often but stay rarely long. Puffers have several known nesting grounds along the coast, and as the young are many times left to themselves, are the most common marine maow to coexist with human settlements and, if raised by humans or with humans, will remain permanently rather than join the flocks in the sea.
