Pesky itching cured after he accidently slurps Head & Shoulders Shampoo foam in the shower.

"I am so impressed by this product," he gushed.
Marlowe in his pre-H&S state.
Marlowe enjoyed temporary relief from "that little itch that could be telling you something" last Tuesday, thanks to fast-acting, Pyrithione zinc in the Head and Shoulders Shampoo foam he accidently slurped up from the wet bathroom tile.

Claude Bennett, a dandruff scientist, said he was not surprised by benefits experienced by the cat.

"Pyrithione zinc is a powerful agent. For the past half century, it has made Head & Shoulders the most effective dandruff-controlling shampoo on the market. It also addresses side effects, such as skin irritation resulting in the sensation of itchiness."

"A pussy cat is much smaller than a human adult, so I would surmise the recommended usage for an adult human would be quite a whopper of a dose for a small mammal. It isn't hard to believe he felt instant relief from an itchy scalp," he said.

"It's true," said Marlowe. "While Mom was taking her shower, whooee was I ever itching! But after she was done and I started drinking the bath water, suddenly the itch went away. Just like that!"

Marlowe added that the Tuesday incident was even more convincing that Head & Shoulders really works, because before he started slurping the bath water, he had no idea Mom had used the shampoo. He didn't even suspect she had dandruff.

"This was a totally, and I mean, totally, a blind test," he said.

Mom had purchased the shampoo at the supermarket a week earlier.

"My dad swore by Head & Shoulders when he had those embarrassing 'snow storms' on his dark blue business suits. If it was good enough for an  aerospace professional who could help send Apollo rockets to the moon my dad- it's good enough for me," Mom said.

"Besides, it was the only brand in the aisle of shampoos that I could recognize. Denmark has  some really weird names for their dandruff shampoo. Plus, the Head & Shoulders was on sale. Only 25 kroner!"

Marlowe could tell immediately that there was something special in the bathwater last Tuesday. When he began slurping the bathwater, it was foamier than usual and within seconds, he could feel his tongue go numb. Within minutes, the itch he was experiencing on his back and thighs under his thick fur stopped.

"The other cats couldn't believe the new me. I didn't have to scratch for the rest of the  morning!" Marlowe said proudly. "That little itch was telling me something. It's just like the ads!"

Shampoo spokeswoman Carol Boyd said studies have shown that 70  percent of all American households have at least one dandruff sufferer.

And, because there are different types of people and animals in the world, Head & Shoulders  Shampoo is now available in three formulas, all with Pyrithione zinc: Fine or oily skin, Normal, and  2-in-1 with conditioner in it, Boyd said.

"All formulas are pH balanced and gentle enough to use everyday, even on permed or color- treated hair," she said.

As far as Marlowe is concerned, he's now a Head & Shoulders guy: "I am so impressed by this product. I just wish they could make something to get rid of these matted clumps in my fur," he said, giving his rump a few scratches with his back paw to untangle a patch.
