| Murder: cats have flimsy alibis | |||||||||||||||||

| An unnamed criminal expert source said it's unlikely that the five cats living in the residence were operating as a gang, because the three boys and two girls despise the sight of one another and cannot even be in the same room together. Despite their dislike for one another, however, it appears the five cats have swapped tongues in a joint pact of silence regarding the case. Only Marlowe has broken the silence to point out he believes the politi are sniffing around the wrong litter box. "They should check out that bully Bubber down the street. If they would take the time, they'd find Bubber has suddenly left town," Marlowe said. "That seems very suspicious to me." For now, the investigation stays on the cats living at house No. 14. Not one kitty has a solid alibi, inspector Jensen said. Gizmo, Monie and Edgar said they were taking naps during the afternoon of the alleged murder. And, each was out of eyesight of any possible witness as they were sleeping under the couch, in a pile of dirty laundry and in a cardboard box, respectively. Marlowe said he was at the litter box doing his business and Teddy swore he was playing bat-the-ball through the kitty tunnel at the time. There have been no witnesses who have come forth to collaborate any of the alibis at this time. Inspector Jensen has vowed to solve this crime, although he is fairly certain the remains of Mr. Bird will not turn up. "It's all part of the cycle of things, if you get my drift," he said, pointing to the cats' litter box. |
