Monie has 'one of those days'
An exhausted Monie rests after enduring a long, hot dogged day of summer
Monie, the lovely Maine Coon and a fine feline role model, was having "one of those days," she confided to Gizmo on Sunday.

"I don't know if I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning or what, but I've been feeling rather dogged today," confessed the fluffy cat, unable to resist inspecting the garbage pail in search of table scraps.

For example, during breakfast, Monie eagerly trotted with her tongue lopping out the side of her mouth when her Mom Annette whistled for her to come to greet her.

During a midday nap, she slept through without curling into a cute little ball even once. Instead, she sprawled out indelicately by Mom's slippers.

And her behavior when the mailman came to the door to deliver a package was simply abhorring.

Most telling, however, was throughout the day, Monie could not muster even one independent urge.

The coup de gras came in the afternoon when a simple leap to the dresser turned into cat-astrophe. She missed her mark, toppled a stack of clothes and fell to the ground landing on her shoulder.

"Doggone it, I don't know what's come over me. But it sucks. I'm going to the dogs," she told Gizmo, who was happy to act as a confidante.
