Cat fight! No KO by door despite furious boxing action
ODENSE, Denmark. A no decision was rendered last Sunday morning after Teddy and Monie battled for six rounds at the window by the back door.

Neither cat landed any punches, due to the one-inch plate of glass between them. But the action was furious fur definitely flew. At the end, both fighters claimed rights to the International Feline Boxing Federal junior welterweight title.

Teddy, of Grass Valley, Calif., had been in control of the fight but never had Monie in trouble until the 3rd. A left hook to the head wobbled Monie, who didnt feel the blow but the surprise of it caught her off guard and when she stepped back, she tripped on her tail. Teddy quickly followed it with another left hook that floored Monie as she fell off the windowsill.

Monie, of Odense, Denmark, made a quick comeback and hopped back to the sill and began a flurry of punches. For added effect, she began hissing and spitting. Teddy was so taken aback by the amount of spittle accumulating on the glass pane that he leaped from his sill. Although the action was deliberate and no blows actually landed, Monie was awarded a technical knockdown.

In round four, Teddy landed a solid shot on the pane where Monies body was on the other side, then followed with a right to the head that would have stunned her if the glass wasnt in the way.

Monie retaliated by stalking Teddy during the fifth round, but found it difficult to land combinations because of the pane.

In the sixth round, however, she immediately attacked, standing on her hind legs and scratching the pane as fast as she could with alternating strokes of her front paws. Although if tilted 90 degrees and put on ice, her paw speed would have made her a rival for Olympic speed skater Bonnie Blair. However, as it was, Monies tactic was useless in the boxing match. Her front-pawed frenzy was as successful as a front-wheeled drive Honda Civic spinning its wheels while mired in the mud.

Between round, there was much cat-calling between the two.
Meet me on the front porch if you dare, growled Teddy.
Why dont you just open the door now, tough guy? snarled Monie.
Cuz I dont got no thumbs to turn the knob, he hissed.
Sounds like a lame excuse to get outta tail-whuppin to me, she retaliated.
Oh yeah, you ugly matted slimy furball.
Watch you mouth, you smelly, rotten-toothed midget.
Hiss. Growl. Soon after, both fighters retreated to take a nap.

During an undercard bout, Wind-me-up and watch-me-go Gizmo made a successful morning debut, as she scared the beejeebers out of Marlowe, who was sleeping on the outside sill when she jumped up on the indoor sill. Marlowe, who greatly outweighed the featherweighted feline, fell off the sill and slinked away.  Gizmo was awarded a technical KO.
