My first knowledge of the science of sex was good teaching from school

During the class, I did listen, never laughed, because my teacher Miss Marian Montenegro was very serious , that was the way it supposed to be, I were educated.

She talked about menstruation, pregnancy, babies, fertilization and rape, contraceptives, circumcision, drugs, the sperm cells, and reproduction. I wrote down the notes to do more further study. Our teacher asked me to watch documentaries, she spent much time to research the best to download for us.

Such as the HIV victims, the different STD’s affecting ordinary people, the involvement of drugs, fertilization, STD's, contraception, pills.

Sometimes I felt sad for some of my classmates, they didn't appreciate the hard work that teachers done for us. Dreaming, making noise, did foolish things in school. They had few knowledge in sex.

I remember well it was in elementary grade 5, right after recess, it was science. The teacher did not talk about electricity, She talked about sex. The way she talked, was like taking to a 7 years old. She tried her best to explain us.

What happen during puberty, she discussed the cycle of producing and releasing mature oval and to prepare for a possible pregnancy in human females, it is called menstruation.

“ The vagina has the fallopian tube, tubes carry oval from the ovaries to the cavity of the uterus. ”

Mrs. Zaraspe said, as she traced the fallopian tube illustration with a pencil.

That circumcision is the operation of cutting away all or part of the foreskin of the penis, she asked what is sexual intercourse?

The best way she could, so we could understand.

Mrs. Zaraspe was as good as Miss Marian Montenegro, talked about sex very seriously, she had flip charts that shows the different male and female reproductive organ, she points out the penis, and the vagina.

She also had a chart showing on how the a fertilized egg turned into a fetus after nine months, followed by a documentary which she downloaded. She played it on our old TV, the documentary show how the sperms race the egg, and to the the process of fertilization. She had her eyes on us, and to whoever did not watch or pay attention would be scolded, and punished.

However, to the opposite, media can be good for sex education too.

Mrs. Zaraspe and Miss Marian Montenegro, they talked sex in an easy way. He liked to conduct his experiments with ordinary people, and he joked a lot too.

Upon his discussion, he used light words easy to understand, he explained what is hormones, what are sperm cells, what are egg cells, and what are the causes and symptoms of STD.
