PCI were 2 individal banks. There was an Asia Economy Crisis at 1997
masterminded by " crocodile " Geroge Soros, perhaps he earned billions
but many Asian countries into depression. The 2 banks merged as one
Equitable PCI, survived.
Later Equitable PCI merged with BDO owned by Mr. Henry Sy. Sr.
Why ? It didn't matter, BDO functioning well, nobody lost.
