Sac Capitol
This building is the Capitol of California. We went for a wander around the place, and were able to go into its House of Representatives and Senate. I learnt that the colours used in the two houses reflect those of the British Parliament, namely green in the Lower House and red in the Upper. There are also two 'thrones' behind the speaker's podium, also a throwback to the British monarchy. Like most of the Capitol buildings I saw on my travels, this had a dome, quite lavishly decorated on the inside. Also like many of the places I visited, including Washington DC, this building was free to enter, and you could wander around reasonably freely.
