In early June, Vin Deisel and Paul Walker won the award for Best On-Screen Team at the MTV MOVIE AWARDS, co-hosted by TV'S Buffy's Sarah Michelle Gellar and Shallow Hal's Jack Black.

According to Smash Hits Magazine [July 2002] "Vin Diesel has backed out The Fast And The Furious 2 cos he's not getting the pay cheque he wanted. The film will now focus on Paul Walker's cop character - fine with us!"
