The steps I took was to layout a general theme of the website. On almost all the pages, the top 1/3 of the website is the navigation and the images of hammers. The images do take up quite a bit of real estate, but I think its important to showcase what they company does in a big way. Next I had to gather some images. I knew the website would be a bit heavy on them, so I started picking out random ones that I thought would look nice. After I got all the materials, I started playing around with the bootstrap themes and found one that I really liked.
The biggest defense that I have to the website would be the top images. It is not considered normal to have images take up that much space, but since they rotate and showcase more information, I thought it was a good idea. All the pages except the products page have the top banner of rotating images.
The home page has 3 sections in the middle to highlight the different areas of the website with a More Info button to take you to the necessary places.
The about page has all the requirements that are detailed out in the guideline and rubric.
The products page was the only page without the rotating images. This is because we want to display the product and show it off.
The peoples page has a brief discription of all the different people who could use the hammer. This will make it more than 'just a hammer', it is where you can find who it can be made for.
The contact page has a brief form that has the basic first name, last name, email and comments where the user can contact the company for more information or for questions.
Ideally, the products page would be completely dynamic with a database behind it. This way, an entry in the database will determine what displays on the page, and no HTML editing will be needed. It would also allow a lot more products to be displayed and maybe even a more detailed view of a product that has the different type of materials that can be used or different sizes.
For future updates, the images do need some work and some customization. Maybe actually taking real world pictures would be nice instead of using other images.
