| JEANS & SUMMER is of course Groover Recordings summer 2003 compilation and my first release as The Martial Arts. The remix of MURRY & AUDREE is listed on the CD inlay and back cover as 'Next Summer' rather than track 18. I recommend this CD also for great tracks by the Steven McDonald Group, Anna Waronker and The Mood Elevator (featuring "Jack White's mate" Brendon Benson). NB The Groover shop doesn't list this track on the 'buy' page, but I guarantee that it is present and correct on the artwork and the CD itself! | The second Groover Recordings compilation is JEANS & SUMMER 2 and features a new song by The Martial Arts, DUALITY. It was recorded with relatively sophisticated equipment and sees The Martial Arts embracing 'mid-fi' for the first time. DUALITY merges the grind of The Velvet Underground with the Shangri-la's pop sensibilities, providing us with, well, the sound of a smacked-up 60's girl group with the young Daniel Johnston on vocals.
