From April 2002, I seek interesting and challenging placements, that will either in part or in full, provide a portfolio of supervised experience, sufficient to illustrate competence to the
British Psychological Society (B.P.S.) for the award of Chartered Forensic Psychologist. The B.P.S. are currently in the final stages of defining the criteria required for qualifying forensic psychologists. Therefore, I intend to follow the common areas that emerged from a meta-analysis of the guidelines of International Psychological Associations namely:
American Psychological Association (A.P.A.); The Australian Psychological Society (A.P.S.); Canadian Psychological Association (C.P.A.); and New Zealand Psychological Society (N.Z.P.S.).![]()
I would like to assist Psychologists who are working at the cutting edge of therapeutic interventions, specifically with juvenile serious first time offenders. Ideally they will incorporate 'Therapeutic Community' ideals to working with that particular client group and also, will be people who recognize the benefits of 'Wilderness Exposure'.
I welcome interest from suitably qualified 'English' speaking psychologists working within the forensic arena, who can offer placements between either a six-month and a two-year period.

Bernard, J.M. & Goodyear, R.K (1992) provide a definition of supervision:
"An intervention that is provided by a senior member of a profession to a junior member or members of that same profession. This relationship is evaluative, extends over time, and has the simultaneous purposes of enhancing the professional functioning of the junior member(s), monitoring the quality of professional services offered to the clients she, he or they see(s), and serves as a gatekeeper for those who are to enter the particular profession".
(Fundamentals of Clinical Supervision. Boston: Allen and Bacon)
I therefore, seek supervision that will exploit and inform on the following areas:

I would expect to receive some form of stipend for the work undertaken and this should be at a comparable scale to other Forensic Psychologists from the host country.
My
Resume illustrates that I have previously worked full-time on a voluntary basis for several Health Authorities in the United Kingdom. I therefore, will consider such a placement again, providing the project is of personal interest and that all expenses and a contribution to pocket money are made. There are usually stringent conditions laid down by Countries for volunteers and host organizations to follow. I will honor any guidelines put forward.![]()
