I delete all E-mail Spam. If you are not a friend or relative add your full name. I try to check yahoo email about once a month. Yahoo is working fine now. If you have my AOL address it is also good even after being sold to another company.
NEVER SEND ATTACHMENTS TO ME (or anyone) without asking first!
(since I am paranoid about this issue) I delete ALL email that contains Attachments without viewing them *even if* you have sent email to me in the past.

Invasive advertising that blocks the content you are trying to read on web pages is annoying and sometimes dangerous to your computer.
The easiest and quickest fix is to Disable JavaScript
Many people now use various types of ADware Blocker programs.
I enjoy being able to turn JavaScript on and Off as needed. Some Browsers make it easy to toggle back and forth. Mozilla-Firefox no longer offers a simple click solution starting with their Version 23. Now you must go into "about:config" or download their stop JavaScript APP or use an earlier version of Firefox such as Mozilla-Firefox 21. The "about:config" option is time-consuming. I use Ad-Blockers more than I did in the past since javascript is required on Youtube and other Surveillance-Capitalism Sites.
Portable versions of Web-Browsers are good since you do NOT have to install them on your computer system because they run out of the folder without installing files or changing your system settings or registry.
Classic versions of different browsers and software programs are downloadable from download sites such as NirSoft freeware utilities, filehorse, SnapFiles freeware since 1997, WinWorld, MajorGeeks, Ninite, File Hippo or worldwide USENET Newsgroups and others who maintain and share Oldies but Goodies.
DISABLE AUTO-UPDATE *after* you install a vintage version of any browser or program you choose! If you fail to disable or cancel automatic-updates the auto-update-police imbedded in the browser or software or APP will install a later version, which usually defaults to a 'Big-G Snoop, Scoop + Poop affiliate'.

If you want to use a program that stops ads and you aren't concerned about everything else that disabling JavaScript will do for you then use AdBlocker Plus or other similar programs
If you go to a site which has no viewable content without enabling JavaScript PLEASE consider that they are only interested in feeding you advertisements. Big-Tech is lying and trying to force everyone to upgrade everything constantly so they can make Billions and Billions more dollars while We the People Starve to feed them.
Social Media tracks everything so they can sell YOU. Internet-criminals steal all the Apps' information, which gives them your private details. They sell it and misuse it. Google wants everyone to upgrade so that every page on the Internet is a sales-venue for them. They want every location on the Internet to be a place FOR THEM to make money via every little-thing you look at, pass your finger across, talk to and post selfies.

Sometimes we must allow JavaScript to run in order to access a safe-site that requires JavaScript to search a database like Ellis Island or FamilySearch, although yes, they are also tracking you. For those access problems use another browser and/or computer. Always use Sandboxie or other protection.

If you use a VirtualBox program or a Live CD/DVD nothing is saved to the computer or network. If something weird happens simply turn off the Virtualbox program or remove the Live CD/DVD disk, which will not have saved anything. More information:

Youtube and other video sites require JavaScript. Use another browser and computer for video sites.
All newer Microsoft OS (Operating Systems) have *too much bloat* and too many Security Problems. Their patches have holes or backdoors. Return to XP and Win7 or use another operating system. In addition, MSN wants everyone to be a Renter not an owner. Many people all over the world still LOVE XP and Win7. There are FUN games that run independently on XP without having to rent the game from MSN forever like they are doing with X-box, W10 and W11 programs.
Microsoft is not the only guilty one. Most newer versions of all Internet apps and hardware have "security chips" built-in to the hardware on the motherboard in their newer computer products (aka: Backdoor)

Big-Tech *destroyed* the Internet. Spyware Apps are bad for all of us. If you want to feel good again, Get up and move around. Stop staring at your mobile gizmo. Due to abuse by Big-Tech it is much healthier to avoid the Internet and all mobile devices. Take a stroll, dance, do martial-arts Forms, light weight-lifing, stretch, touch-your-toes, do high-kicks, read books, learn to sew or knit, cook your own food, start a garden. Walking is a good choice. View the world in person. Do something away from the Internet 5 to 6 hours daily besides the 6 to 9 hours you need to be sleeping and focusing on your own health maintenance.

CAUTION: do *NOT* use Cnet until they clean up their site and stop wrapping apps in adware and malware. Test everything before you install and after you download.
Delete any attachments anyone sends to you if you have not discussed the attachment with them in advance, regardless if they have ONCE sent you a safe attachment.
Best choice is to view even what you consider might be 'safe' attachments in Webmail USING a safe Sandboxed environment or Live Boot CD to view all attachments including in-line attachments.
Apple is not secure. It is now being excessively targeted by Crackers. No matter what Browser or OS you choose be sure to keep your virus protection updated and also use a good malware searcher and registry cleaner. Hardware and Software Firewalls are important. Big time Virus protection software updates *AFTER* about 200,000 Servers are hit. Anti-virus people do not write virus protection in advance. Some virus protection-ware actually gives you spyware.
NOTE: Apple Products "used to have" fewer Crackers writing ways to mess-up computers. "However" Apple-Mac products were always insecure and few government officials used them "For security reasons many do not use an iPhone." Apple-Mac computers, mobiles, etc. SPREAD VIRUSES to PC users. They are carriers. Crackers know this and deliberately target Apple-User email-chain-letters in the hopes that an Apple-Mac user forwards infected email to Microsoft OS users and others. Apple products are produced under Slave-Labor conditions. Do searches for the factory conditions in China and elsewhere and the amount of worker suicides. Apple mobile devices keep a secret log of wherever you go. Welcome to life in a caged Zoo and now they want to insert chips into people. 
Help educate advertisers
Click on text ads or other ads that do_NOT block your screen or give you blinking light headaches. Ignore blinking ads or ads that cover the screen. Also, if you don't use high-security setting you can still close many ads by holding down the 'control-alt-delete' keys simultaneously. It will close the AD window, stop gator, comet cursor, obnoxious toolbars, etc; from downloading onto your computer.
Usually I use
Process-Explorer or simply push the computer reboot button or turn the computer OFF by holding down the start button until the computer shuts down.
If enough of us ignore the terrible ads eventually the more intelligent "Ad People" will get the consumer message. Click on Ads that are non-offensive. You might even enjoy *some* of them as I do. (seriously - about .003-percent of ads are interesting and beautiful)
Delete your cache, your cookies and your temporary internet files regularly otherwise 'evil-tech' will give you the same stupid ADS over and over simply due to the fact that you looked at something *once*.
CCleaner, also known as Crap-Cleaner, is a good tool to clear out unwanted history, cache and files left in your computer. Advertisers behave as though simply because you searched for something *once* then you must want to know more about it for the next 5 years. :-)) boring... (they must be drinking too much fluoride :-))
If the settings are too computer intense for you then there are many good programs out there that kill Spyware, Ad Snooping and Pop-Ups. Don't get a junk program or some of those "free" programs that actually contain SpyWare:
