TERROR IN NYC
9-11-01
As captured through the lens of Paul Walton
As a San Diegan, I often spend time in and around the New City area, even referring to it as my second home.  On that fateful morning, I was on the subway when a jolt was felt.  Several riders dismissed the lights flickering as an oft-occurring electrical shortage.  When the subway got to the Brooklyn Bridge stop, a gentleman unknown to me and I decided to get off the subway and see if there was any possibility of a Cessna having hit the WTC Tower, as a fellow rider had heard on a radio.

What next we saw we were not prepared for...it was total and complete chaos and devastation.  The following are the pictures my new-found friend and I took of the war-like zone that was once a thriving downtown area with businesses and residences which now were rubble and grey smoke as far as could be seen.  I'm posting these pictures on this site as a photo-journal of that time as these pictures are burned indelibly in my mind.
