Legacy: March 16, 1991
Dreams are a legacy
in the space of time
and my dreams are me
shaped for the betterment of me
For I put my heart and soul
into the forming of a dream
I hope for the best course
but work with what I have
Sometimes it is not enough
and dark depression claims me
unhappy with what I see
and unable to change my course
Rather or not I like to admit it
I first must change myself
before I change the world
a little way before the bigger way
But I seem to enlarge things
making small problems larger than they are
but I guess I am like any man
and a way through is always there
For God has promised me
never to give me more problems
than I can ever handle
and He never lies
Legacies are many things
and different from one to one
my legacy is my story
and my song is only one
I like to dwell on the good
but there is also the bad
problems and blessings
they are both the way to travel
I will rejoice in the blessings
and also rejoice in the problems
for I cannot grow everyday
if I remain stagnant and not stirred
I must include everything
in my legacy that I write
for it is my life's story
and a part of my soul
I will continue to dream
and fight for a better world
while I also fight for a better me
as I travel through the rivers of time
