all_for_a_nightALL FOR A NIGHT
Look at me
young, vital
I have it all
you might say
little do you
really know me
I fought
most of my life
for what I
manage to get
and hold nothing
except pipe dreams
and unfulfilled promises
suddenly empty
staring in the mirror
at my reflection
a man who has
it all others think
yet empty inside
lonely within
my spirit
I'm a traveler
on a deserted road
rich in abilities
and yet I would
gladly trade it
all for a night
with my Donna
tis strange
this thing called love
I would gladly
give my soul
and my heart
just to spend
a little time with her
this from a man
who once claimed
that he needed
no one to survive
but himself
funny
this man in the mirror
he looks out now
this strange sparkle
dancing in
his blue eyes
when I think
of Donna
she's everything
in my world
she's the spark
that gets my
creative juices flowing
in more ways than one
oh yes
I may sound
a little foolish
as I weigh
the bargain
fame fortune
who knows what else
for this one shot
at love
it takes more than
the brain to appreciate
the offer that represents
true happiness
and hope in my life
I know with all
my being that it is
a fair bargain
for without love
how can one live
