Thousand Islands 1000 Islands:
The St. Lawrence River stretches for 1,240 kms (775 miles), carrying fresh water from the Great Lakes to the Atlantic Ocean. For some 60 miles (including the section between Kingston and the Thousand Islands Bridge), the waterway is dotted by more than 1,000 pink granite and limestone islands. Topping the list of things to do: sign up for a one or three-hour boat tour, go fishing, dive to shallow shipwrecks, or stroll the village of Gananoque.
