We're an informal group of eaters, who have been trying Chinese restaurants in the San Gabriel Valley.
Here's where we've been so far:

Chung King (Szechuan)
China Islamic (Muslim Chinese),
Green Village (Shanghai)

Sea Harbour (dim sum),
Shiang Garden (Hunan)

August dinner: Szechuan
Our first outing (August 2003) was to Chun King, a Monterey Park Szechuan restaurant. We followed up the spicy dinner with a trip to Fosselman's ice cream in Alhambra.
This is what we ate:
-rice crust with pork
-spareribs with ash
-Chong Qing Chicken (fried chicken cubes with hot peppers)
-Sichuan cold noodles in special sauce
-braised fish with garlic
-leeks with skin-like tofu
Chris digs into cold Szechuan noodles as Anne and Kathy look on.
Patty is vastly appreciative of a vast plate of fried chicken cubes with red peppers. Those are all red peppers on the plate.
Matt (right), considers his next selection while Martin tests the heat quotient on the chicken.
