Other Interesting Things We've Done
         With Our Ham Radios!
Our goal with ham radio is to enjoy ourselves and help others. Here are some of the things we've done:
Bill and Patti (the Directional Engineer) attempting to contact UO-14 at Field Day 2003.
Patti's Weather Station in the backyard. It's a wireless Vantage Pro from Davis Instruments that she got for Christmas. The plan is to eventually be able to upload data to the Internet and be a weather spotter for NOAA.
It was 63 degrees 18 miles east of Buffalo, NY on December 28, 2003.
Patti is assisting in communcations for New York State's Empire Games. This is an Olympic style event held annually at a different location in the state each year. This year it was held in Western New York. This is the ice hockey arena at Niagara University between games. Not only do the games draw atheletes from all over the state, it also draws Amateur Radio Operators from all over the state.
Bill is attempting to build a 6 meter antenna in the backyard.
