Our station transmits on 6, 2, 220, 440 FM / SSB. We have other interests, such as slow scan TV, packet and DX on the VHF/UHF bands. Since we both recently acquired our tickets, our station is modest yet functional. We are using a Yaesu 736R in the shack, transmitted through a tri-band Comet verticle. In KC2HWA's mobile she has a Yeasu 7100 and a Comet dual band antenna. Her HT is an Icom IC-T81A . N2WEC is using a Yaesu 8800 dual band mobile in the car, a T-81A Icom HT, an Icom 2iA HT and his much valued ancient brick (according to Patti) Yaesu model 208R HT. His newest toy is a Kenwood TH-F6A tri-band HT for satellite work with the Arrow, and 220 use. We are waiting for the snow to clear so we can put up our 40' tower with a Cushcraft tri-band Yagi and 2 meter and 222 MHz Yagis controlled by a split azimuth rotator. We are getting a RigBlaster Plus to use with slow-scan TV and packet radio. We are happy active Hams with the Lockport Amateur Radio Association in Lockport, NY. Our home repeater is W2RUI on 146.820 with a PL 107.2 Hz. Look for us on the Sunday night net. Better yet, check in with us at 8:00 pm. Our latest Ham experience was working communications at the New York State Empire Games 2003. Lots of fun...too bad many of the local Amateurs failed to take advantage of this wonderful experience! We plan to be back next year. Our furture plans include a DXpedition to the top of Bear Mountain in the Adirondacks, active participation in Field Day and emergency communications. |
