~Conducted by Who's Who Among American High School Students
The 23rd Annual Survey of High Achievers
"A generation that is sexually aware, politically indifferent, personally depressed, economically anxious, and fearing for their safety."
"Large numbers of today's top high school students are considering suicide, concerned about their future, fearing their safety, drinking alcohol, and seriously misunderstanding their relations with the opposite sex."
"Suicide numbers tell us that there is a pervasive feeling of despair in this generation that we as a nation can no longer ignore."
"Our nation needs to understand the consequences of raising young people in a world of anger, violence, and frustration."
"More young people call themselves Independents. Given their deflated hopes for the future, it is not surprising that young people distrust politicians and are bailing out from the established political parties."
"One has to admire and applaud these high achieving kids for persevering in spite of all the pressures put in their path. It's hard enough to grow up. But these kids are doing it -- and doing their best -- in a world of financial pressures, violence, racial tensions, and political drift."
"Current national leaders must take note of this generation's anxiety and find ways to provide these future leaders with real hope."
"If our best and brightest young people are concerned about their future opportunities, one can only imagine the pessimism running through the entire generation."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Always Be True To Yourself~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
***I'm also considered opinionated (in case you have not yet noticed!)~ I feel you should put at least a little bit of thought into everything, so of course you should have some opinion?!? I feel there is a common ground only now being openly discussed that we may perhaps use to rise us all to a truly global community. I have been an anxious and worrisome person my whole life. I have always felt there are bigger plans ahead of us!?!  My family is open with each other and understands each other's viewpoints in a unique way, this provides me with the valuable support we all must have. I strive to be self-sufficient, at which time I will be able to help others do the same. I am a true romantic at heart with my faith in love, trust, and honesty.
***I have become so accustom to change and variety that it is now a way of life and something I often seek out rather than avoid. I believe well being is the key to happiness and try to keep in touch with my inner and outer bodies' needs, which are ever changing. I do not seek to be wealthy, and have plans on how to spend my millions to help the masses ; )
***I only let people in when I feel they have shown themselves to be a strong and respectful soul. Because of this, acquaintances will often see me cold, bitter, and distant (cold , hard, b*tch is commonly used). I believe this is due to the fact that I respect myself too much to be involved in any relationship that is anything but a partnership (of sorts), and I know too much about the endless choices to allow just anyone to be a part of my life, especially on the levels of intimacy. True friendship sees through all.
***I surround myself with uniquely unusual artifacts and aesthetic art objects that serve to stimulate my curiosity (I have quite a large collection of fidget toys, puzzles and games, etc.). I own enough reference books to fill a small library, and cannot find any usefulness in fiction (unless it's a "Choose Your Own Adventure"!). I collect gemstones (and take great pride in knowing the pronunciations of, almost, all) and stamps. And yes, I own a deck, board, and a set of homemade runes as well as various other tools I use to focus my mind on the root of my worries and concerns. I believe all answers lie within if you can still the mind enough to hear the silent whispers of the soul.
***I have pondered and investigated many of life's questions for years on end. I have often referred to myself as a life-long learner because I have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. I have devoted most of my years to my studies in various cultures, sciences, religions, theologies and concepts, and countless hobbies. I believe the world could be greatly improved if everyone could catch a glimpse of their purpose and the endless possibilities; but I believe you must first be willing to be more responsible and open to being held accountable for any and all of our actions.
***My curiosity and free spirit has also led me to peculiar places. We all are capable of astonishing feats in our own circles. I believe myself to be a highly spiritual (although not exactly what most would refer to religiously) individual with grand ideas and ideals. I  have receive what I need, along with my flashes of creativity and wisdom, from years of suffering yet never losing faith in myself. I am usually very forgiving and understanding to those less fortunate, but all too often intolerable to those who allow their ego to consume their souls and take for granted the beauty of existence that has been shown to us all.
